Ben van Rompuy

Ben Van Rompuy is Assistant Professor of EU Competition Law at Leiden University and managing editor of the European Competition and Regulatory Law Review. His main research interests lie in the fields of EU and comparative competition law (antitrust, State aid) and EU internal market law, with a particular focus on the sports sector and on procedural issues. Before joining Leiden University in 2016, Ben was a senior researcher at the T.M.C. Asser Instituut in The Hague and Visiting Professor at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, where he also obtained his doctoral degree. He has been a visiting scholar at Georgetown University and New York University and served as a consultant in international antitrust for the US Federal Trade Commission.
