Yusuke Takahara is a Competition Attaché at the Mission of Japan to the European Union in Brussels. He is seconded from the Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) and brings more than a decade of experience as an official in the field of competition. During his significant tenure in Tokyo, he was responsible for drafting and coordinating key legislative bills and regulatory guidelines. In his current role, Takahara monitors EU competition policy and acts as the primary link between Japanese and European authorities to cooperation. His expertise covers a wide spectrum of issues, ranging from Japanese digital competition policies and antitrust law to specialised regulations designed to protect small businesses and freelancers. He plays a vital role in maintaining the bilateral dialogue between Japan and the European Union.
